Meet the Team

You’re Welcome is a project run by local charity Active Impact, designed to make it easier for people in Gloucestershire to ‘find inclusive activities that work for you.’ At the heart of the project is Megan,  who has been leading on You’re Welcome since Active Impact took it on in 2020.

“Hi, I’m Megan – You’re Welcome’s project coordinator.

I’ve been working on You’re Welcome since it became part of Active Impact. It’s exciting to watch Gloucestershire’s inclusive activity finder grow and see people from across the county using our online resource to help them find things to do.

It would have been so useful to me when I first came to Gloucestershire as a student and had no idea of where I could find things to do. I’ve been completely blind all my life and have had experiences of going to events that have worked really well for me, as well as the ones that haven’t been suitable for all sorts of reasons.

This is why I think it’s important that people can use You’re Welcome to search for activities by any specific requirements they might have. It would have saved me a lot of time!

When I’m not working, you can find me reading, writing, swimming, playing visually impaired tennis and socialising.”

The rest of the Active Impact team are always on hand to support You’re Welcome. We’re a friendly team, made up of people with a mix of professional and lived experience of disability and inclusion.
