We run weekly a weekly boccia club in Cheltenham for anyone who wants to play boccia socially and/or competitively. W4 always welcome new members.
Our sessions run from 5pm to 7pm at Leisure at Cheltenham on a Friday evening. No previous experience needed – we cater for all levels from absolute beginners to experienced boccia athletes. It is helpful if you contact us in advance before attending a session, to enable us to plan accordingly, but not essential if you would find it easier just to come along.
Boccia is a game that can be played by anyone and is played from a seated position so is ideal for wheelchair users. It is fun for all ages and abilities and is easy to pick up the basics and get into a game.
It can also be played very strategically and get highly competitive and we can provide opportunities for coaching to play in local, regional and national competitions as well as fun social sessions. The competition pathways are designed for people with a range of disabilities but the game can be played by virtually anybody with a wide range of impairments or none at all. We are open to all ages, although younger children will currently need a parent or guardian present. We welcome new members at any time and would also anyone who may be interested in volunteering with the club in any capacity.
The cost is £4 per session (or £15 for 4 sessions) plus a £20 annual membership fee. Free trial for first session.

Inclusion statement
We welcome anyone to join our boccia club, especially those with a disability or impairment. Boccia is played for a seated position so is suitable for wheelchair users and adaptive equipment can be used to support those with a range of physical or sensory impairments. Our venues are wheelchair accessible and have accessible toilets and we will work with our members to prevent any barriers to access or inclusion on an individual basis where necessary.
