Join us for our monthly relaxed, neurodivergent friendly gaming session at Hesters Way Community Resource Centre. Booking link at bottom of information.
We have the use of 2 large rooms plus 2 other seating areas and a kitchenette for adults to grab a cuppa. There’s a carpark at the rear of the building with spaces for blue badge holders too. The rooms we use are mostly on the first floor up a wide set of stairs. The is a lift available for anyone who requires step free access.
As usual we will have board / table top games and some (retro) gaming consoles to enjoy including PS3, PS4, Xbox360 and Wii. Plus you can bring your own tablet, handheld console or laptop to engage in ‘local play’ for games like Minecraft, Among Us etc.
There are quiet areas and spaces to sit and chat for young people as well as parents / carers. We will aslo have a sensory area with a blackout tent and sensory toys / tools.
Our ever popular tuckshop will be available and everyone with a gamer ticket gets tokens to spend at the tuck shop.
You are most welcome to bring your favourite tabletop or board game and your own handheld gaming consol / tablet if you’d like to.
Please book a £5 ticket for every gamer you are bringing aged 8-18 (if you have younger children please let us know so we can ensure we make space for them whilst giving the older children their peer group time).
Parent Carers are free and we have tea, coffee and biscuits for you all! Payment on the day by cash or paypal.
The group is open to neurodivergent young people and their friends, we try to create different spaces to accommodate different sensory and interactive requirements but we need everyone to support one another and aim to keep the space autism friendly and calm. While we do our very best to accomodate everyone’s needs, and how the young peple would like to use the space, the group is primarily for gaming, and is not suitable for running around so please consider this when deciding if this session is right for your young person.
