Sling library monthly support sessions offer families the opportunity to have help and support with carriers or slings they own, or to try out options from our library. We can provide fitting and safety advice and also offer hire of any of our slings or carriers.
All sessions run on a prebooked basis, we cannot currently accept drop ins. Visit our website to book a space. Bookings open one week before the event. www.cheltgloucsslinglibrary.co.uk
We are run on a wholly voluntary basis. We ask for £5 per family to cover venue hire and refreshments. To hire slings we require a £50 cash or PayPal deposit. Fees and other details available here: https://www.cheltgloucsslinglibrary.co.uk/hiring-a-sling-or-carrier.html
Sessions are kindly hosted by Oakwood Children’s Centre, Clyde Crescent, Cheltenham, GL52 5QH.
On arrival, please sign in at the Children’s Centre reception and let them know you are here for the sling library, they will then signpost or guide you down to the family room where the library is based. All adult attendees must be signed in.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Oakwood Children’s Centre can be accessed using the A bus which travels from the town centre regularly throughout the day.
PARKING
If you are travelling by car there is parking in the residential areas immediately around the Children’s Centre. Please take care not to obstruct driveways and dropped curbs. There is no parking at the centre itself.
ACCESS INFORMATION:
The entrance is accessed via a wide step free pathway and ramps to automatic doors. The venue has an accessible toilet and step free access throughout. There is blue badge parking at the front of the building or this area can be used to drop off anyone who needs close access.
Cheltenham and Gloucester Sling Library is run on a wholly voluntary basis. Our aim is to give parents the most up to date, safety focussed information to enable them to enjoy wearing their babies and children for as long as they wish.
The library is coordinated by two qualified sling consultants, Samantha and Nicole. Between them they have expertise in all types of slings and carriers. Both are highly trained and fully qualified and insured.
The library has wonderful support from babywearing mums all of whom have completed Peer Supporter training and receive regular training updates.
