Date: Saturday 12th July, 2025Making energy with lemons4 Kids taking part in the activitiesGirl making electricity experiment

  • Powering Potatoes & other experiments : 10am – 12noon
Create a working battery using potatoes and lemons, and light up an LED. Hydrogen is a promising clean fuel for the future—explore how electricity can be used to split water and produce hydrogen.
  • Mini Wind Turbines : 12:30pm – 2:30pm

Wind power is one of the cheapest and cleanest ways to produce electricity. A single wind turbine can power up to 1,500 households, typically lasts 20–30 years, and approximately 90% of its parts can be recycled. Build your own working wind turbine using simple craft materials and discover how wind energy can generate electricity.

(you can book and attend both sessions if you would like to attend for a full day)

This inclusive event is aimed at disabled/neurodivergent children and young people (and their siblings) aged 7 – 25, who welcome a quieter environment with smaller groups and enjoy focusing on S.T.E.M based activities. There will be opportunities to stretch and challenge children and young adults as appropriate. Children under 10 years old need to be accompanied by an adult.

No previous experience is required and support can be given to ensure all those attending can be successful in the activities. Participants can work at their own pace and take time out in the quiet area and sensory area as required. Chat with us before booking to make sure that the session is going to suit your child.

To find out more, discuss your child’s needs, and book a place: Contact Kirsty on 0208 150 3767 or email accounts@bloodhoundeducation.com
