Cheltenham and Gloucester Sling Library is run on a wholly voluntary basis. Our aim is to give parents and carers the most up to date, safety focussed information to enable them to enjoy wearing their babies and children for as long as they wish.
The library is coordinated by two qualified sling consultants, Samantha and Nicole. Between them they have expertise in all types of slings and carriers. Both are highly trained and fully qualified and insured.
The library has wonderful support from babywearing mums all of whom have completed Peer Supporter training and receive regular training updates .

Inclusion statement
Cheltenham and Gloucester Sling Library is a community organisation run by local people for the benefit of all members of the local community who need help to use slings and baby carriers.
We are an inclusive organisation and we welcome all families including those who are adopting, single parents, disabled parents and children, all sexualities and communities. We use an accessible venue (details below) and our team are happy to work with you to accommodate any specific requirements. Babies and older siblings are welcome at all our events.
We positively promote inclusion of all members of society who need this assistance and we aim to provide an accessible and appropriate service that does not discriminate against anyone based on:
- Gender or gender identity
- Age
- Sexuality
- Race or Ethnicity
- Disability
- Faith
- Cultural group
We do this through our own practice and approach to treating each person as a unique individual for whom the support we offer should reflect their specific requirements. We also aim to show the diversity of our community in our publicity and language.
We have assessed the space we use to ensure it is accessible for wheelchair users but we recognise there are limitations to the venue’s accessibility. We provide clear information to enable disabled visitors to check if our space will be suitable for them. Where a disabled parent or carer may need use to meet them at an alternative venue we will endeavour to do so.
We welcome any feedback from our local community about the service we provide and we aim to resolve any issues promptly and courteously.
