We are a small, enthusiastic team who started in April 2023. Over the past 23 months, we have dedicated ourselves to providing sports and physical activities to home-educated children, those classified as EOTAS (Education Other Than at School), and other children who cannot attend mainstream school for several reasons. Many of these children face serious anxiety and other social, emotional, and mental health challenges, including SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) conditions.
Additionally, we offer sports and coaching services to several disabled charities in Worcestershire. These charities cater to both adults and young adults with disabilities and SEND conditions. Home-educated children we work with often miss regular access to sports and lack funding for their educational needs, unlike their peers in mainstream schools. Similarly, many charities we support must apply for funding to provide sports activities.
We coach a local charity’s football team and hope to purchase new goals and footballs to offer extra sessions. Winning this funding would enable us to provide more free sports and physical activities to numerous charities and children. It would also allow us to purchase more equipment and hire additional staff, expanding our reach to more young adults and children who struggle to engage in sports due to their SEND or disability barriers.
Over the past 23 months, we have received fantastic feedback on our sports sessions, including our work with the Monday Night Club. We have had five positive reviews on our Facebook page from parents whose children love our sessions. One parent shared, “My 9-year-old had a fun time. He loved the variety and found it really fun and exciting. Who knew horse racing and jousting would feature in a kid’s sports group? Now my 6-year-old feels more confident to join in after seeing how much fun it is.”
Another parent wrote, “Rich is a very warm and welcoming PE teacher. He keeps the children engaged while learning. My children absolutely love his sessions and look forward to going every week. I highly recommend these PE sessions to any parent wanting to get their children out of the house—they are so much fun and inclusive for all.”
