Red Horse Foundation is a dedicated equine centre in the peaceful Cotswold hills. Established for 10 years, the centre is set in 15 acres and includes woodlands and abundant wildlife. Our centre has a herd of 5 horses, stables, a sand arena, a round pen, a yurt for private work and a classroom.

Red Horse Foundation supports young people and adults struggling with trauma and mental health issues through Equine Assisted Psychotherapy and Learning in Gloucestershire.

Our goal is to help children, adults and families to process and work through their trauma and grief, to develop new ways of thinking and to overcome their obstacles and move forwards in their lives.

This highly specialised form of therapy involves working in collaboration with a horse and one of our highly trained therapists. Sessions provide a unique and powerful combination of psychotherapy, ground-based exercises and mindfulness.

We primarily support people who are struggling with trauma, grief and loss, in particular:
– Children and adults with mental health problems
– Children and young people with SEN and disabilities, including autism, ADHD and behavioural problems
– Victims of domestic violence, neglect or sexual abuse
– People struggling with family breakdown, stress and bereavement
– People battling an addiction or eating disorder
– Veterans experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury

Inclusion statement

Our vision is to create an environment in which all people have equal, dignified and easy access to our services and facilities. We want to eliminate discrimination and promote equality of opportunity throughout Red Horse. We are actively working to increase and improve the usability and accessibility of our services and in doing so aim to meet our legal, moral and ethical obligations.

We aim to:
• Offer services fairly to all people, ensuring that anyone in contact with Red Horse is treated with respect, making provision for those individuals within the community whose needs and expectations are less well met.
• Eliminate any conditions, procedures and individual behaviour that can lead to discrimination even where there was no intent to discriminate.

We recognise the contribution of all our colleagues, client’s and associates. We aim to be supportive, fair, just, and free from discrimination.
In line with these objectives, we will challenge discrimination based on age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex and sexual orientation while actively promoting equality and diversity.

As such we will ensure mechanisms are in place for responding to complaints of discrimination and harassment from colleagues and the public.
