Run by Community Dance Lead, Sarah Hartley, this class is a supported session for those living with Parkinson’s. Dancing can bring a whole host of benefits, improving balance, co-ordination, posture and strength whilst also helping to release stress and anxiety. It helps us reconnect with our bodies, and makes us feel more upbeat and positive, generating a feeling of contentment – something those living with Parkinson’s may feel they have lost.
The classes runs weekly (apart from school holidays) and are an opportunity to have fun at a friendly, uplifting, sociable class. No experience is necessary and you can join in at whatever level you can, going at whatever pace suits you.
Why not come along for a taster session and meet Sarah and the group? New starters can currently have TWO free sessions thanks to funding from The National Lottery Comunity Fund.
A family member, friend or carer is welcome to come along too (and join in!) for free – although a donation into the refreshments tin is much appreciated.
For more information or to book into the class, please call Sarah on 07894 500969 or email dancebesocial@gmail.com
