We are thrilled to announce that Cheltenham Lido has set aside sessions throughout the season that are particularly suitable for those who require a calm, quiet environment because of their additional needs, need additional space and time, or may require additional attention from members of staff.
These Quiet Swims will run every Tuesday throughout the season (29th March – 19th August) from 9.35am-10.45am, the specified dates below will also feature an Accessoloo mobile Changing Places facility onsite from 9am-4pm.
Quiet Swims will provide a calm and low arousal environment for disabled and neurodivergent people to enjoy swimming in a quieter, calmer setting. These sessions are designed to reduce noise, crowding, and distractions, allowing participants to feel comfortable and confident in the water. There will be no music playing during this session, nor activities that could be overwhelming (such as training, classes, maintenance, gatherings etc).
We will ensure that these sessions are supported by members of staff who have received Inclusion Training via our charity partner Active Impact (www.activeimpact.org.uk).
