Things to do at Tinkley Gate

Lawn games

Try your hand at quoites, see who can build the highest jenga tower or get sporty with a game of badminton. There are plenty of games and activities to play with the whole family on the grassy area around the café. You can also get creative drawing your own hopscotch grid or activity path with chalk.

Nature to spot

Follow the grassy paths and take time in nature. See what plants, birds and animals you can spot, take some time cloud gazing and have fun exploring.

Food and drink

Enjoy everything from hot and cold drinks, ice cream, cakes, sandwiches, pizza and focaccia at the Tinkley Gate café. Indoor and outdoor seating is available, as well as plenty of picnic spots across the site.

Access for Wheelchair Users – there is a small lip at the main door to the café. You may prefer to use the conservatory door at the side, as the height of the lip is shorter.

We will soon be receiving a Tramper that will be available for hire – watch this space!

Accessible Parking – we have a number of accessible parking spaces further down the drive, closer to the café

Accessible Toilet  – we have an accessible toilet situated in the café. It is to the left of the till

Autism Friendly – our staff are trained to welcome everyone. Inside the café we do not play background music. On weekdays the café is generally quieter, and at weekends and school holidays the café and surrounding areas can be busier and noisier

Baby Changing Facilities – we have baby-changing facilities within the Accessible toilet, to the left of the till inside the café.

Dog Friendly – we welcome dogs on leads and ask that they are kept in the conservatory area of the café. Assistance dogs are permitted everywhere with their owners. We have dog drinking bowls for use, and free water to top them up. We also sell dog-friendly ice-cream in the café which is very popular. Outside there is space to exercise your dog on a lead, and dog waste bins.

Drop-off Point  – There is accessible parking next to the café. You can also be dropped off in our main car park. If you are arriving in a group with a larger vehicle such as a minibus or coach, please contact us in advance at cotswolds@nationaltrust.org.uk so that we can best facilitate your visit.

Family Friendly – we recognise that families can be of a variety of types and welcome everyone. We have a variety of books to read in the café, and lots of games to play with outside. We are also planning lots of exciting school holiday activities.

If you don’t see the answer to your question in the above list, please do contact us at cotswolds@nationaltrust.org.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you.
