A series of hands-on science and engineering workshops. Children can work at their own pace in small groups. Places are limited to 15 per session.

Rockets and Travel to Mars January 12th 10am – 12.30pm
January 19th 10am – 12.30pm
January 26th 10am – 12.30pm
During this 3 week project you will design and build rockets using compressed air and water propulsion and test different fin designs to maximise stability. You will investigate the science behind the activity and launch the rockets to see how far they travel. You will also explore the challenges and technology around sending humans to Mars.
£24 per child for the 3 sessions
Speed and Power
February 2nd 10am – 12.30pm
February 9th 10am – 12.30pm
During this 2-week project you will design and build an air powered rocket car and modify it to maximise its performance. You will also explore the science behind it – pressure, force, acceleration, friction and the purpose of taking multiple results and averaging.
£16 per child for the 2 sessions
For children who are autistic aged 7 – 11 accompanied by an adult.
