Our Vision

To become the provider of choice in Gloucestershire, delivering outstanding learning, inspiring individuals and transforming the lives of local communities to support growth and prosperity.

Our Mission

To enable adults within Gloucestershire to improve their lives through life-changing education, providing a range of high-quality programmes, leading to progressive learning and enhance employment skills, this is underpinned by our values of always having learners at the heart of our decision making; providing inclusive provision of the highest quality, promoting a respectful and diverse learning environment and ensuring both economic and environmentally sustainable provision.

Adult Education in Gloucestershire aims to achieve its Vision and Mission by:

  • Widening participation in learning by helping adults to overcome the barriers that prevent them from successfully taking part in learning – whether the learning is for personal development, family support or in connection with employment.
  • Providing high quality training and support for employers in the county that helps meet their business objectives.
  • Ensuring that learning opportunities are flexible and responsive to people’s needs so that they may participate, achieve their goals, and progress to further participation and achievement if they so wish.
  • Ensuring that learning opportunities and the accompanying support for learners fit with local, regional and national priorities and are of high quality.
  • Delivering an efficient and effective service which maximises the resources available to pay for adult learning in the county.
